Fifteen minutes north

Most people arrive already knowing what the problem is

Randwick, NSW is well served for general dentistry, which changes the shape of our first appointments. Most people who come to us from here have already had the conversation with their own dentist and been pointed towards orthodontics specifically. There is usually a known issue and a specific question attached to it.

That makes things more direct. Straightforward crowding of the front teeth can often be handled with aligners in a matter of months. A bite that genuinely needs correcting is longer work and usually calls for fixed braces, ceramic or steel. We give the realistic version of both, including the parts that are less convenient to hear.

We are a specialist orthodontic practice rather than a general dental one, so your dentist keeps looking after everything else and we handle the movement. Randwick sits in the City of Randwick area, fifteen minutes up Alison Road. More on our approach as an orthodontist in Sydney.

What we treat

Ceramic braces, metal braces and clear aligners

If your dentist has already flagged something specific, bring what they gave you and we will work from there rather than starting the diagnosis again.

Clear aligners

Removable trays. Often the answer when the concern is the front teeth alone. Clear aligners →

Ceramic braces

Fixed, tooth coloured brackets, for cases needing more control than trays give. Ceramic braces →

Traditional braces

Steel brackets. Usually the recommendation where a dentist has flagged a genuine bite problem. Braces →

Early treatment for children

A first look around seven, usually producing a review date rather than treatment. Early treatment for children →

Adult orthodontics

Routine, and many Randwick patients arrive already knowing what their dentist has raised. Adult orthodontics →

Retainers

What holds the result. We will explain the options and how long each is worn. Retainers →

Questions from Randwick

Questions we are asked most often

Do I need a referral from my dentist?

No. You can book directly. If your Randwick dentist has referred you, bring their letter and any recent x-rays so they do not have to be retaken.

Fifteen minutes by car via Alison Road or Darley Road. We are at 135 Edgecliff Road, Woollahra 2025.

Yes. We are a specialist orthodontic practice, so we handle the tooth movement while your dentist continues your general care. Where it helps we will correspond with them about the plan and timing.

An orthodontist has completed three further years of full time specialist training in moving teeth and correcting bites. It is a separate qualification, not an interest area.

Yes. They move teeth identically, using tooth coloured brackets rather than steel. Metal is slightly tougher and remains preferable for some complex corrections.

A few months to about two years. Front tooth crowding is quick; changing how the teeth meet is not.

After planning and fitting, reviews are short and typically several weeks apart. We will give you a realistic schedule at the first visit.

We go through it at the assessment once the treatment is known.
