Ceramic braces are what Bronte actually searches for
Of all the suburbs we cover, Bronte, NSW is the one where ceramic braces dominate the enquiries outright. That is a specific request rather than a vague one, and it usually comes from an adult who has already decided treatment is happening and is now negotiating the terms.
The reasoning holds up. Ceramic brackets are tooth coloured and bond to the front of the teeth exactly as steel ones do. Same mechanics, same control, considerably less obvious. They are marginally more brittle, which occasionally matters for heavy bite correction, and we will say so if your case is one of those.
The other recurring Bronte story is relapse — braces at school, a retainer worn diligently for a year and then not, and fifteen years of quiet drift. Correcting that is often shorter work than the original treatment. Bronte sits in the Waverley Council area, nine minutes from us via Macpherson Street. Our approach generally is on the orthodontist in Sydney page.
Everywhere else we cover is set out on our areas we service page.

What we treat
Ceramic braces and adult orthodontics for Bronte
Most people arrive having already settled on ceramic. Our job is to confirm that it will actually achieve what you want, and to be straight with you if metal or aligners would serve you better.
Clear aligners
Removable trays covering most crowding and spacing. The alternative for people who would rather nothing was fixed to the teeth. Clear aligners →
Ceramic braces
Tooth coloured brackets, fixed. By a distance the most searched treatment from this postcode. Ceramic braces →
Traditional braces
Steel brackets. Marginally tougher, and still the most capable option when the bite has to change substantially. Traditional braces →
Early treatment for children
A first look around seven. Most end in a review date, not a plan to start. Early treatment for children →
Adult orthodontics
The larger share of our Bronte patients, usually dealing with crowding or a result that has given ground. Adult orthodontics →
Retainers
What holds everything in place afterwards. Abandoning one explains most teeth that move years later. Retainers →

Your first visit
What happens when you come in
Allow around an hour for the first visit. You are welcome to bring a partner or parent, and there is no obligation to start treatment on the day.
01
We talk it through
We ask what you want changed. Most Bronte patients have been watching something specific for a while.
02
We examine and take records
An examination, then scans or x-rays where we need to see below the gum. Recent x-rays from your dentist can be reused.
03
We explain the options
What is realistic. If ceramic would take eighteen months where metal would take twelve, you will hear both numbers.
04
You take it away
You take it home. Nothing is booked on the day.
Two practices, both easy to reach
Questions we are asked most often
Do I need a referral?
No. Book directly. Bring recent x-rays if your dentist has referred you.
How far is the practice from Bronte?
Nine minutes by car via Macpherson Street and Bondi Road, or a bus from Bronte Road to Bondi Junction. We are at 135 Edgecliff Road, Woollahra 2025.
Are ceramic braces as effective as metal?
Yes. Same mechanics, same control — the bracket is tooth coloured rather than steel. Ceramic is slightly more brittle, so metal keeps an edge for some heavy bite corrections. We will tell you if that applies to you.
My teeth moved after braces at school. Can that be treated?
Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons adults come in. Teeth keep moving, particularly once a retainer stops being worn. Relapse work is often shorter than the original course, depending how far things have gone.
What is the difference between an orthodontist and a dentist?
Three further years of full time specialist training in tooth movement and bite correction.
How long does treatment take?
A few months to about two years, depending on what is being corrected.
How often would I come in?
Short reviews, usually several weeks apart, so the trip is not a frequent one.
What will it cost?
We go through it at the assessment once the treatment is known.
