Almost every conversation here starts with discretion
Patients from Darling Point, NSW rarely ask whether their teeth can be straightened. They ask whether anyone will be able to tell. It is a fair question and it has a real answer, though not always the one people are hoping for.
Clear aligners are removable and close to invisible, and for crowding or spacing they are frequently the whole solution. Ceramic brackets are fixed but tooth coloured, and they handle the corrections aligners cannot. The case decides which, not the preference — and if the invisible route will not get you where you want to be, you will hear that at the first appointment rather than discover it later.
Being a few minutes down New South Head Road inside the Municipality of Woollahra area matters more than it sounds. Reviews are short and spaced weeks apart, so the treatment absorbs into an ordinary week instead of interrupting it. Our broader approach is set out on the orthodontist in Sydney page.

What we treat
Invisalign, clear aligners and ceramic braces near Darling Point
The realistic shortlist for most people here is two items long: aligners or ceramic braces. What separates them is not how they look but what they can move.
Clear aligners
Removable, close to invisible trays. This is where the conversation starts locally, and for straightforward crowding it is usually where it ends. Invisalign and clear aligners →
Ceramic braces
Fixed, tooth coloured brackets. Visible up close, unremarkable across a room, and capable of things aligners are not. Ceramic braces →
Traditional braces
Steel brackets. Less discreet and occasionally much faster — we will tell you if that trade is worth making in your case. Traditional braces →
Early treatment for children
A first look around seven shows how the jaws are developing. It usually ends in a review date rather than a plan. Early treatment for children →
Adult orthodontics
Nearly all our Darling Point patients are adults, and most have been thinking about it for years before ringing. Adult orthodontics →
Retainers
The unexciting part that decides whether the result is still there in a decade. Retainers →

Your first visit
What happens when you come in
Allow around an hour for the first visit. You are welcome to bring a partner or parent, and there is no obligation to start treatment on the day.
01
We talk it through
We ask what you want changed. People here usually arrive with something specific, which makes this brief.
02
We examine and take records
An examination, then scans or x-rays where we need to see below the gum. Recent x-rays from your dentist can stand in.
03
We explain the options
What each route can realistically achieve, and where the discreet option falls short if it does.
04
You take it away
You take it home. Nothing is booked, and at six minutes there is no reason to decide on the spot.
Two practices, both easy to reach
Questions we are asked most often
Do I need a referral?
No. Book an assessment directly. Bring your dentist’s letter and any recent x-rays if you have them.
How far is the practice from Darling Point?
Six minutes by car along New South Head Road, or about twenty on foot through Edgecliff. We are at 135 Edgecliff Road, Woollahra 2025.
Which treatment is genuinely the least visible?
Clear aligners, because they are removable and close to invisible. Ceramic braces are next — fixed, but tooth coloured rather than steel. Which is right for you depends on what the teeth have to do, and we will say plainly if the least visible option is not the right one.
Are clear aligners suitable for everyone?
No. They cover most crowding and spacing, but they depend on being worn most of the day, and some bite corrections need the constant control only fixed braces give.
What is the difference between an orthodontist and a dentist?
An orthodontist has completed three further years of full time specialist training in moving teeth and correcting bites. Dentists look after general dental health. The two roles sit alongside each other.
Am I too old to start?
No. Teeth move throughout life, and adult treatment is ordinary work. What changes with age is which appliance suits and how existing crowns or veneers are accounted for.
How often would I need to come in?
Short reviews, usually several weeks apart. At six minutes away most people fit them into a working day.
What will it cost?
We go through it at the assessment once the treatment is known. A figure quoted before an examination is guesswork. You get it in writing first.
